Druk Path Trek is an ancient route that connected the Paro Valley and Thimphu Wang valley. It was the only route in olden days until 1960. Motor roads development took over making the route unused by most of the people. But on the other hand, we are lucky. Today it is the most popular trekking route in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
According to the Tourism council of Bhutan, the Druk Path Trek is much easier trek as compared to other trekking routes in Bhutan. Moreover, the distances between rest camps are fairly short. But still, it offers great opportunities to explore every bit of the Eastern Himalayas.
The Druk Path Trek Altitudes Range Between 2400-4200 Meters Above The Sea Level.
It passes through a stunning landscape of blue pine forests, high ridges, and pristine lakes. At the same time, it also offers the opportunity to visit some ancient monasteries, fortress, and villages.
The trail takes you through forests of fir, blue pine, and dwarf rhododendrons. On the third day, you will arrive at Jimiling Tsho (Lake), whose crystal clear waters are home to gigantic trout.
