Trek to Everest Advanced Base Camp with Tibet Tour

Mount Everest Advance Base Camp (EABC) not to be confused with Everest Base Camp in Nepal is approached from Tibet and at 6,340m / 20795 ft is the highest that one can go on Everest without a climbing permit. This route covers the first 3 camps used by climbers as they approach the summit of Everest via the Northeast Ridge and is considered the world's highest trek. It's a challenging trek, primarily because of the altitude, up the Rongbuk Valley and alongside the glacier of the same name. The trip starts in the historic city of Lhasa where you will have a few chance to visit the famous palaces and monasteries while you acclimatize for a few days. It's a leisurely three drive across Tibet to reach the base of Everest with our first stop being the historic city of Gyantse which is known for its ancient fort and beautiful wall of '100,000' murals. We continue onward from Gyantse to Shigatse and New Tingri through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. We will leave the Friendship Highway at New Tingri and head directly towards the base camp of Everest. Once reaching Rongbuk we will spend the next 8 days working our way slowly up from Everest Base Camp to the Advanced Base Camp. Its only 22km / 14miles from the lower base camp to the Advance Base Camp but it's over rough terrain and we set up 2 intermediary camps in order to take it slowly and make sure no one has problems with acclimatization.
