Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Museum Khatkar Kalian was inaugurated on 23rd of March, 1981 being the fiftieth Martyrdom Anniversary of Shahecd Bhagat Singh. Museum is situated at Khatkar Kalian ancestral village of Shaheed-e-Azam On Ropar- Nawanshahr- Phagwara Road in Nawanshahr District of Punjab. Museum is 100 Kms from Chandigarh (Capital of Punjab State), 30 Kms from Phagwara, 55 Kms from Jalandhar and only 1 0 Kms from district headquarter of Nawanshabr. Local Railway line passes through village Khatkar Kalan to Phagwara and Nawanshahr but town Phagwara which is only 30 Kms from museum is a important Junction of Indian Railways which is directly connected with the National Capital New Delhi and daily trains for all important cities are available there.
Raja Sansi International AirPort at Amritsar is less than 150 Kms from here, frequent Bus services is available from Jalandhar- Phagwara & Chandigarh. The museum is a commemorative tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and his compatriots who raised the banner of revolt against British Imperialism to wrest freedom for mother India. In the museum half burnt bones and blood stained newspapers on which there were collected are well preserved and displayed. A copy of Judgment of the 1st Lahore Conspiracy case in which Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha was sentenced to death with Shaheed Bhagat Singh's scribed notes in his own handwriting on this copy is also a notable exhibition. The pen used by the executioner for signing the death sentence of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev is also in display in the museum.
