Edirne is the western most city of Turkey. It was the second capital of Ottoman Empire. Its founder – Hadrian gave its first name: Hadrianople. It is in Edirne where Sinan completed his masterpiece Selimiye Mosque-recently declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ottoman Sultans of 15thcentury built magnificent mosques, medreses, baths, palaces which still remain. Bayezid 2. Commissioned a large complex that consists of a mosque, hospital building, imaret and medrese. Today award winner Museum of Health expose beautiful statutes made of wax and some artifacts from the Ottoman medical history.
